After warning that Trump was a threat to democracy,
Democrats practically USHERED Trump back into power.
Here's
how they did it:
Fake opposition fools most of the people most of the time, but the surest sign of fake opposition is pulled punches. (And if you don't believe me, just ask any former fan of professional wrestling.)If Democrats are not fake opposition to Republicans, then how come, during the '24 campaign, practically no mention was made of JD Vance having referred to Trump as "America's Hitler"? (Did he mean that as a compliment? As an endorsement??)
How come no mention was made of Trump's many many financial failures? Trump Perfume? Trump Vodka? Trump Steaks? Trump University? Trump Airlines? Trump Casinos?! ...how the hell do -- can -- casinos go bankrumpt, anyway?
How come Dems won't even ask the right questions, such as:
When oh when will retard Republicans finally become woke about Climate Change, and realize that "Drill baby, drill" means "Burn baby, burn" and "Drown baby, drown" and "Die baby, die"?
Or: Why do radical Right wing-nut Republicans care so much more about the unborn than about all of Creation, and is that more stupid or evil or both?
(not) Speaking of which, how come during the '24 campaign We heard the phrase "radical Left" practically every day, but NEVER hear the phrase "radical Right"? How come we hear "Biden crime family" but never (from Dems) "Trump crime family" or even "Trump crime organization" (even as Allen Weisselberg, Trump Organization CFO, was again serving time in prison during the '24 campaign)?
How come Dems never ask[ed] Republicans what they are doing to stop the Stop The Steal hoax?
How come Dems never asked Trump lie-swallowers whether red wine or white goes better with cat?
How come Dems never ask Republican congresscritters if they would bet their lives that Trump could not possibly, in any way, have gotten himself compromised by the KGB and Putin during his stays in Moscow in the 1980s, back when Trump was a Jeffrey-Epstein-hugging horn dog?
More unasked Dem questions:
Did Republicans all miss that day in school when the rest of us learned that the Constitution is characterized by checks & balances, and by separation of powers, and by due process?
Did Republicans all miss that day in school when the rest of us learned that, in WW II, American officers were loyal to the Constitution, while Nazi officers were loyal to a man?
Is it just a coincidence that Nazis burned books before they burned people, and Republicans ban books before they ban people, And that one of the books they banned -- Maus -- is about Nazis burning people? (I'm not a coincidence theorist. Are all Democrats?)
Back in Nazi Germany, one man did the thinking for all. So if that one man was an election denier, all good Nazis had to be election deniers. And if that one man mispronounced the Vice President's first name, all good Nazis had to mispronounce the Vice President's first name. And if that one man was a climate change denier, all good Nazis had to be climate change deniers...
So Republicans are all climate change deniers. Democrats, on the other hand, recognize that human-caused global climate change is an existential threat. Yet during the '24 campaign, even as people were dying from heat and fires and floods and tornadoes from one record-breaking hurricane after another, Dems did not make a huge or even significant issue of this life-and-death stark difference. WHAT DOES THAT TELL US???
How is it possible that an autistic socialist Swedish schoolgirl can wrap her mind around the science of human-caused global climate change AND the existential threat that that represents, yet Republicans cannot? Is that because Greta Thunberg is not in the pocket of Big Oil, or because Greta does not have her head up tRump's ass?
We've all heard Trumpistas and MAGgots refer to convicted criminal seditionists and insurrectionists as "hostages", but we've never heard any political opposition say that Thomas Matthew Crooks was "martyred" by a Secret Service sniper. No matter; there are plenty of far less harsh pulled punches; lies of omission told by the fake-opposition Democrats:
How come, FOR MORE THAN 10 YEARS, Democrats have not ever pointed out that Mussolini's first campaign theme was "Make Italy Great Again", and that that worked SO WELL that "Make Germany Great Again" became Hitler's?
Mark Twain did warn us: History does not repeat. It rhymes...
INSTEAD, Democrats have been going around speaking the phrase "MAGA Republicans" (into existence). THAT is a quadruple verbal political boner: In addition to the horrible lie of omission [not] linking Trump's campaign theme with those of Mussolini and Hitler, saying that phrase also 2)promotes the Trump brand, 3)it NORMALIZES the Trump brand, and 4)it tells people that Republicans are making America great (again).
Way to go, Democrats!
Are We supposed to believe that Democrats are truly and innocently so ineffectual out of stupidity/incompetence? If not, then what is the explanation? (I've never been able to actually see a[nyone's] motive; have you?)
Republicans have, for decades, since Gingrich, used words as weapons. To say that Democrats are as rhetorically effective as a 1-legged man at a butt-kicking contest downplays the seriousness of the situation, as if they are merely somehow handicapped, but not evil, or even complicit.
Has no one in academia or the mainstream media ever noticed this??? When political pundits never mention what Dems always neglect to mention, that is akin to telling lies of omission about lies of omission!!!
Trump is a habitual pathological liar, and his favorite kind of lie is the 180-degree lie. So when the Drano-drinking bleach-injecting hydroxychloroquine-huckster-in-chief, whom we all saw staring into a partial solar eclipse, calls other people stupid, he's clearly talking about himself. And when he refers to "the enemy within", there he goes again, always talking about himself... And when he says that he's long been hard on Putin, the truth is that he's long exhibited a hard-on for Putin.
Clearly, there must be some secret ingredient in the Republican Kool-Aid that confers invisibility on it. Have Dems been nipping at that Republican Kool-Aid?
Why can't Dems just come out and flatly state that Trump is an orange unregistered Russian agent? Meanwhile, Trump, in a play straight out of the Hitler-Goebbels playbook, repeats lies incessantly until they become accepted as truths.
Far be it from Democrats to ever leak any such info to voters!
Trump has a pejorative name -- crooked her, sleepy him, Pocahontas... -- for everyone, yet no Democrat can ever refer to the name-caller-in-chief as anything but "Donald". This is almost as disgusting, and revealing, as the way Trump can never say anything bad about Putin. No wonder Trump's minions and acolytes and sycophants see him as invincible/untouchable, their political messiah, their orange Jesus, the chosen one, who walks on water... (Personally, I see and think of him as Dathan Trump.)
So, during the campaign last year, every time you heard the Democrats say that Trump's negatives were "already baked in", please understand that that was fake-opposition-speak for "We are going to help let them all slide down the old collective memory hole."!
And all of the above is how the fake-opposition Democrats practically USHERED Trump back into power, even as they occasionally mentioned that he was a threat to democracy.
...the scope and scale of 2024 fake opposition reminds us of '04, when Democrats nominated GW Bush's Skull & Bones fraternity brother to run against him, and then John Kerry & the Dems let Bush and Cheney take *CREDIT* for what was supposedly the worst defensive military failure in U.S. history!
That's the way the Constitution crumbles...
In historical instances of democracy slip-sliding away in other countries, how many of those cases involved a fake-opposition punch-pulling prominent political party, and info-and-evidence-suppressing mass media outlets, and complicitly silent academia??????
So why all the crickets over this 1-man Constitutional crisis?
Lies of omission are the deadliest, silence is complicity, and sometimes when "the experts" are wrong they are not mistaken; they are lying.
But democracy cannot survive -- or even truly exist -- in a post-truth world...
